Doctor charged with indecent assault in Glebe

An Inner-west doctor has been charged after he allegedly drugged and indecently assaulted a female at his Inner-west medical practice, NSW Police say.

Officers from the Leichhardt Police Area Command commenced an investigation after a 20-year-old woman attended Glebe Police Station on Friday 31 August 2018 and spoke with Detectives.

It will be alleged in court the woman was indecently assaulted after she was drugged without her knowledge or consent, while under the care of the 48-year-old man.

On 18 October 2018 a search warrant was executed at his medical practice in Auburn and at his private residence in Rydalmere where police seized a number of items. Upon execution of the search warrant, the male was arrested and conveyed to Granville Police Station.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, three other victims were identified.

The male was charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault and using intoxicating substances to commit indictable offence. Further charges are expected to be laid.

The man was conditionally bailed to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 9 November 2018.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
