Brunswick police are investigating following the theft of a donation box from a Coburg business earlier this month, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man entered the Sydney Road bottle shop just before 3pm on Sunday 1 April.
The unknown man picked up a donation box, which was shaped like a dog, from the counter and hid it inside his jacket before leaving.
Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is described as Caucasian, 30-40-years-old, brown hair with a beard and moustache and was wearing a beige jacket and black pants.
Anyone who recognises the man or with any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
