Donvale theft and deceptions

Police are investigating following a theft of motor vehicle incident in Donvale last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed an offender stole the vehicle, which was parked on Old Warrandyte Road between Woodhouse and Springvale roads, sometime overnight between 23 and 24 February.

The car was found approximately 300 metres down the road at the Springvale Road intersection.

The offender stole a mobile phone, tools, a watch and the victim’s wallet from the vehicle.

A woman, who appears to be aged in her 20-30s, is believed to have used the stolen credit card at various service stations and a grocery store in Rowville that morning.

The woman, described as having a tattoo on her right arm, is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance and about 160cm tall with a slim build.

It is understood she was wearing a pink singlet, black three-quarter length pants and a black and pink cap.

Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images of a woman who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police have also released an image of the stolen car, which has since been recovered, in the hope someone recognises it and may have witnessed any activity involving the vehicle.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
