Double fatal single-vehicle crash - Riverina Region

Two men have died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's Riverina Region overnight.

About 2.30am (Sunday 10 October 2021), emergency services were called to the Olympic Highway near Henty, south of Wagga Wagga, following reports a Holden Colorado had left the roadway, rolled down an embankment before hitting trees, ejecting the occupants.

A 22-year-old man died at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was treated; however, died on route to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

Officers from Riverina Police District attended and established a crime scene. The highway was closed while the scene was forensically examined and has since been reopened.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and anyone with information or dashcam footage, is urged to come forward.

Reports will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
