Police are investigating a double murder in the State's South East overnight and a man is in police custody.
Police were called to the rural property north-east of Millicent just before 11.30pm on Saturday 22 August. When they arrived at the property they found two people, a man and a woman, deceased.
A man at the property was arrested without incident.
Major Crime detectives and Forensic Response officers will fly to the area this morning from Adelaide and are expected to remain at the property all day.
Police wish to reassure the community that they are not looking for any other offenders in relation to this incident. This was not a random incident and the people involved were known to other.
The arrested man will be interviewed by detectives and will be charged later today. It is likely he will face court tomorrow.
