Double trouble in Bentleigh

Police grabbed two drink drivers and impounded a vehicle after alleged hooning activity in Bentleigh early this morning.

Police received multiple calls of hoon activity at a carpark on Higgins Road, just after midnight early Wednesday, 27 October.

A silver Toyota Camry and black Ford XR6 ute were intercepted by police as they exited the carpark.

As the two cars were stopped, the Ford ute reversed into one of the police vehicles, causing minor damage.

The driver of the Toyota, who is a probationary driver, returned an alleged evidentiary breath test of 0.083.

The 21-year-old Bentleigh man had his licence suspended for three months and he received a fine.

The driver of the Ford, who is also a probationary driver, returned an alleged evidentiary breath test of 0.158.

His licence was suspended for 12 months and his ute was impounded for 28 days at a cost of $878.50.

The 21-year-old Carnegie man is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and careless driving.
