DPRK top leader: DPRK will strive for world denuclearization

Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un said that the DPRK, as a responsible nuclear weapons state, will strive for world denuclearization and faithfully fulfill obligations of nuclear non-proliferation, state media KCNA reported.

Kim emphasized that the DPRK, as it has already made clear, will not resort to nuclear weapons first unless its sovereignty is encroached upon by any aggressive hostile forces with nukes, the report said.

He made the remarks when he delivered a report on the work of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) at the party's 7th Congress.

Kim stressed that the WPK has worked hard for the implementation of the strategic line of pushing forward economic growth and nuclear development at the same time, which was required by the prevailing situation and the revolutionary cause. (Xinhua)
