Dr Harry Nespolon's passing a loss for all

The untimely passing of Dr Harry Nespolon is a great loss to his medical colleagues but also to all Australians seeking to make Australia's health system even better, the Consumers Health Forum of Australia said today.

"As President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr Nespolon championed a more inclusive approach with consumers in the direction of primary health care," the CEO of the Consumers Health Forum, Leanne Wells, said.

"We deeply appreciated his support for jointly working with CHF in areas including primary health reform and in supporting CHF on issues that matter to consumers like social prescribing.

"General practitioners are central to health care and Dr Nespolon provided leadership that sought to build on the GP's role to ensure that patients got integrated care provided by GPs and other health professionals.

"We extend our condolences to Dr Nespolon's family, his patients and to the RACGP," Ms Wells said.
