Draft budget documents still on show

Time is running out to have your say on Mitchell Shire's Draft Budget, Draft Financial Plan, and Draft Revenue and Rating Plan as public submissions are due to close at 5pm on Tuesday 4 May.

The community greatly assisted in setting the Draft Budget 2021/22 through the What's Important to You initiative last year with more than 220 responses received online and through community engagement.

As a result of input last year, Council spent more than ever on capital works for things like connecting footpaths through missing links programs, road renewal and upgrade programs and maintenance.

The Draft Financial Plan guides Council's commitment to long-term financial sustainability, delivering key services for current and future communities, accountability, and working within the annual rate cap.

Submissions will be considered at a Community Questions and Hearing Committee Budget Submissions Meeting on Monday 24 May.

The Budget may then be considered for adoption on Monday 28 June.
