Located on Gipps Crescent, Jock Brown Oval currently features a multi-use oval, an off-leash dog area, an ageing amenities building, and a newly built playspace.
The draft Masterplan sets out a long-term vision to revitalise the area with new sports amenities, upgraded drainage, redesigned sportsgrounds, formalised car parking, improved lighting, and a renewed playground. It also includes a shared pathway and integrates a new detention basin to help reduce local flood risks.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the draft plan reflects Council's commitment to enhancing public spaces for the benefit of the whole community.
"Jock Brown is a valued space for local families, schools and sporting groups," Mayor Homer said. "This draft plan looks at how we can improve it in a way that supports everyone who uses it, now and into the future.
"We invite everyone to take a look at the plans and share their thoughts during the exhibition period."
The draft was developed in consultation with local clubs, schools, residents and stakeholders, along with input from Council teams. Early feedback helped shape priorities such as safety, accessibility, shade and equitable use of the space.
