The draw for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers has been set for early July as the road to Uzbekistan begins.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced that the draw will take place on Friday, 9 July 2021 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The seedings for the Qualifiers have also been revealed, with Australia U23’s confirmed as seed 3, jumping eight places following their third-place performance at the previous U23 Championship in 2020.
The Qualifiers are set for 23 to 31 October 2021, and will be split into West (23 teams) and East (20 teams) zones.
Australia will compete in the East zone, which is split into four groups of five nations.
The 11 group winners and four best second placed teams (total 15 teams) advance to AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022, which will be played in Uzbekistan between 1 to 19 June 2022.
