Drink Driver Caught After Kurunjang Crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash in Kurunjang last night, where a driver was allegedly caught over the legal limit.

Emergency services were called to Dunvegan Road where a car had crashed into a house about 10.40pm.

Luckily, no one was inside the property at the time of the incident when the car went through the front living room.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, returned a positive reading in a preliminary breath test at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

His license will be suspended, and he is expected to be charged with drink driving offences.

Police are reminding drivers that they should expect to be tested anywhere, anytime, knowing that if they run the risk, they will be caught.

Officers are also conducting roadside alcohol and drug testing at every opportunity during Operation Roadwise, which runs throughout the festive period and into January.
