Drink driver had passenger in boot

Greensborough Police were out in full force on the first day of the new year suspending licences, impounding cars and handing out fines to badly behaved drivers, Victoria Police say.

An 18-year-old woman will face court after she was detected drink driving with a passenger in the boot.

The Carisbrook probationary licence holder blew .114 on an evidentiary breath test on High Street, Northcote Road, at 9 am on January 1.

She had four passengers in the car and police discovered a fifth in the boot while police inspected the vehicle.

The driver had her licence suspended and car impounded.

She will be charged with drink driving, Probationary Licence Holder Carry More Than One Peer Passenger and Driver Carry Passenger Unrestrained in Part of Vehicle Designed for Carriage of Goods.

A 29-year old taxi driver was caught watching Youtube videos on an ipad while driving without passengers on Georges Road, Northcote at 5.55am.

He was charged with using Visual Display Unit While Driving and will pay a $484 fine and lost four demerit points.

A 27-year old Windsor woman on her way to work was stopped on High Street, Northcote at just before 7am blew .60 and tested positive for meth and was charged with drink driving and drug driving.
