Drink Driver Misses Green Lights In CBD

A man was detected drink driving after sitting through multiple green lights in the CBD in the early hours of this morning.

At 1.40am on Friday 17 July, police received a report that a VW wagon was stationary at the intersection of King William Road and Grenfell Street, Adelaide for about 30 minutes.

The car missed at least five cycles of traffic light changes.

Police attended and the driver, a 34-year-old Norwood man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.176 - over three times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

His car was impounded for 28 days and he was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.
