Drink driver nabbed in Carnegie

A 25-year-old man has been caught over the limit after crashing into parked cars in Carnegie early this morning.

Bayside police were called to Margaret Street following reports five parked cars had been crashed into about 12.30am.

It is believed the driver fled the scene and returned to a house party nearby.

Police tracked down the driver and he was taken to a police station for a breath test where he returned a reading of 0.228

A Truganina man is expected to be charged on summon with drink driving, careless driving, fail to stop at the scene and other traffic related offences.

Operation Scoreboard will run state-wide this weekend and will see police conducting widespread roadside alcohol and drug testing across the state.
