Drink driver's behaviour leads to crash , SA

Police have arrested a man following a crash at Fulham overnight, according to SA Police.

Just before 10.30pm on Friday 27 January, patrols were called to the corner of Tapleys Hill Road and Murray Street after a Holden sedan crashed into stobie pole.

Witnesses at the scene reported the driver had been doing a burnt out he left a service station nearby and then appeared to lose control, crashing into the pole.

The driver returned a positive preliminary breath test and later returned an evidentiary breath test result of 0.162. Enquiries also revealed the man's Provisional licence was cancelled in 2008.

The 32-year-old from Camden Park, was charged with drink driving, drive in a manner dangerous, due care, drive unlicenced and theft after a stolen cheque book was found in his possession.

He was also issued with an immediate 12 month loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 30 March.

The driver was uninjured however, two women in the car at the time were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
