Drink driver with child in car at Alberton, South Australia

A drink driver was detected at Port Adelaide last night, with a young child in the car.

About 9.20pm on Wednesday 29 October, police were patrolling the Port Adelaide area when they spotted a sedan travelling erratically on Grand Junction Road.

They followed the car and pulled it over in Alberton and observed the driver to be under the influence. Also of great concern to police, a one-year-old child was in the back seat.

Police checks revealed the 27-year-old driver was disqualified from driving and he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.155.

The West Lakes man was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving under the influence with a passenger under 16 years old and driving while disqualified. He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 26 November.
