Drink driving incident at Bridgewater

Yesterday Bridgewater Police intercepted a black BMW 4wd after being alerted by a member of the public about the dangerous manner of driving.

The vehicle was reported to have been involved in a crash on Fingerpost Road at Orielton and continued driving through to the Midlands Highway at Bridgewater.

The driver of the vehicle, a 69-year-old woman from Sorell, was taken into custody and returned a reading of 0.160 after breath analysis.

The female has been charged with Exceed 0.05, Driving under the influence of alcohol and fail to remain at the scene of an accident. She was bailed to appear at the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police would like to thank the member of the public for their assistance.
