Drink driving, Rasmussen

Police have issued a learner driver with a notice to appear after a car smashed through a front fence at Rasmussen early this morning (February 2).

It will be alleged around 2am a red Holden Commodore was travelling south along Pinnacle Drive when the driver lost control of the car.

The vehicle skidded for about 100m, crashing through the fence, before coming to a rest in the front yard of a home on Gollogly Lane.

There were no serious injuries from the crash.

The teenage driver blew a positive roadside result and was taken to Kirwan police station where she provided a breath alcohol concentration of 0.079%.

An 18-year-old Rasmussen woman has been issued with a notice to appear for drink driving and is expected to appear before the Townsville Magistrates Court at a later date.
