Driver and friend arrested after brief pursuit, South Australia

A driver was arrested after failing to stop for police at Enfield overnight.

Just before 3am on Saturday 12 October, police attempted to pull over a Mazda sedan on Main North Road, Enfield. The vehicle took off from police, but pulled into the driveway of an Enfield home a few hundred metres away.

The female driver tried to run inside the house but was arrested by police on the doorstep. The 38-year-old Enfield woman was charged with drive dangerously to evade police, resist arrest and drive unlicensed.

Other occupants came out of the house and allegedly interfered with police trying to impound the car.

A 26-year-old Huntfield Heights man was arrested and charged with hinder police. Both people were bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
