Driver arrested after colliding with house, SA

A driver was arrested after he crashed his car into a house at Rostrevor this afternoon, according to SA Police.

Police and emergency services were called to Reynell Road, Rostrevor just before 3pm on Wednesday 13 July by reports a car had left the road and crashed into a house.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, however, there was significant damage to the house.

The alleged driver ran off, but, with the assistance of witnesses, he was quickly located.

SES volunteers attended to assess the structural damage to the property.

The driver, a 44-year-old Rostrevor man, was arrested and charged with drive without due care, drive disqualified, drive unregistered and drink driving, after recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.184. He was refused police bail and will appear in court tomorrow.
