Driver arrested after failing to get away from the chopper, South Australia

A man has been arrested for a number of traffic offences in the northern suburbs overnight.

Just after midnight on Wednesday 31 October, police spotted a white Holden station wagon driving at speed on Peachey Road at Davoren Park. Patrols did not pursue the car and PolAir which was nearby, followed the car from the air.

The driver (and only occupant) was trailed for about 30 minutes through several suburbs until abandoning the station wagon on McGee Road at Angle Vale and running off.

Patrols were quickly on scene with PolAir directing police to a nearby shed where the driver was located.

The 25-year-old from Clearview was charged with driving in a dangerous manner, drive disqualified, drive contrary to defect, remove defect label and unregistered and uninsured.

He has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

His station wagon was also impounded.
