A man has been charged over a crash in which a motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries on the Mid North Coast earlier this year, NSW Police say.

The crash happened when a southbound 4WD utility and a northbound motorcycle collided in the northbound lanes of King Creek Road at King Creek, near Wauchope, about 11.15am on Monday 16 July 2018.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist, from Sancrox, sustained critical spinal injuries and he remains in Royal North Shore Hospital.

The 55-year-old man driving the ute escaped injury.

The Mid North Coast Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) conducted inquiries, and yesterday (Thursday 30 August 2018), served the older man with a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for the offence of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, and negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm.

The man’s licence has been suspended.

The driver, from Failford, is due to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 24 October 2018.
