Driver Charged in Fatal Glenfield Hit-and-Run

A man has been charged following a fatal crash in Sydney's southwest yesterday.

About 4.15pm on Monday 16 June 2025, emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Belmont Road and Canterbury Road, Glenfield.

The pedestrian – a 70-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The man died in hospital later that evening.

Specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the crash.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Kokoda Place, Glenfield, about 1pm today (Tuesday 17 June 2025).

Police seized a silver ute and arrested a 25-year-old man.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with three offences - negligent driving occasioning death, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death, and drive whilst disqualified.

He was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 18 June 2025).
