Driver dies after Northern Expressway crash, SA

A man has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a crash on the Northern Expressway on Sunday afternoon, according to SA Police.

About 3pm on Sunday 25 September, two cars collided at the junction of the Northern Expressway and the Gawler Bypass at Gawler Belt.

The driver of one of the vehicles, an 87-year-old Munno Para West man, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. He was the only occupant of his vehicle. Sadly, he died of his injuries in hospital.

The two occupants of the second car sustained only minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators attended and examined the scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.

The State's road toll is now 64, it was 69 at the same time last year.
