Driver dies after single vehicle crash - Nepean PAC

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney's west.

About 12.15pm yesterday (Monday 30 January 2023), emergency services responded to reports a van had collided with a barrier and caught fire in the eastbound lanes of the M4 Motorway, St Marys.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Although yet to be formally identified the driver is believed to be a 55-year-old man.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed or has any available dashcam footage of the crash to contact St Marys Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
