A man has died after a car crashed into a tree in Bendigo this morning.
Police understand the car was travelling along McCrae Street when it left the road and struck a tree just north of Baxter Street about 6am.
The driver died at the scene.
The passenger received minor injuries and was conveyed to hospital for treatment.
McCrae Street and Baxter Street are closed and diversions are in place while police continue to examine the crash scene
