Driver dies in hospital after single-vehicle crash at Blacktown

A man has died in hospital following a single vehicle crash in Sydney's west last week.

About 7.40pm on Thursday 12 October 2023, emergency services responded to reports that a car had collided with a parked and unattended cement truck in Butterfield Street, Blacktown.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Echo – a 40-year-old man – at the scene, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced and investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Yesterday (Thursday 19 October 2023), police were notified that the man had died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
