Driver dies when truck crashes south of Glen Innes

A man died when his truck crashed in the state's New England yesterday.

About 4pm (Sunday 16 January 2022), emergency services were called to New England Highway at Stonehenge, 10km south of Glen Innes, after a truck left the road, travelled down an embankment and rolled.

The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
