Driver fined more than $1000 and licence suspended in Bundaberg, QLD

A 19-year-old Bargara man, driving on a provisional licence, has been issued a traffic fine worth $1137 and had his licence suspended after he was detected allegedly travelling at nearly 50kms over the 60km speed limit in suburban Bundaberg last night, Queensland Police say.

An officer from the Bundaberg Road Policing Unit detected the vehicle allegedly travelling at 106km an hour outbound on Goodwood Road at around 8pm (September 17).

Police intercepted the vehicle and handed the driver his infringement notice and suspension notice.

With speed an acknowledged killer on Queensland roads police perhaps diverted possible disaster for this young man, his male passenger and other road users.
