Driver flees after serious crash in Homebush

Police are appealing for information after the driver of a car involved in a serious crash fled from the scene at Homebush yesterday., NSW Police say

Shortly after 6pm (Friday 3 August 2018), emergency services were called to the M4 at Homebush Bay following reports a Holden Rodeo and a Toyota Hilux had collided, causing the Holden to hit a safety barrier and roll.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and located the Holden on its roof.

Three passengers had been able to get out, however, the driver, a 39-year-old man, was trapped for a short period of time.

He was released and conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition with minor head injuries.

The male driver of the Toyota fled on foot and was pursued by several members of the public however made good his getaway.

The road was partially closed during the operation but has since reopened.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the driver or with dash cam footage of the crash to come forward.
