A woman is being treated for fractures after being hit by an alleged drunk driver at Lethbridge Park overnight, NSW Police say.
About 7.45pm today, police were called to Apia Place, Lethridge Park,
Where they found a 22-year-old woman had been hit by a Holden Commodore sedan.
Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command were told the woman and her partner were pushing their baby in a stroller along the footpath when the car left the road and struck the woman, pinning her against a brick fence pillar.
Emergency services attended and treated the 22-year-old woman, who was then taken to Westmead Hospital with a fractured left leg.
Her partner and child escaped injury.
A 61-year-old man driving the sedan was given a roadside breath test and returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station for a breath analysis where he returned an alleged reading of 0.199.
The man has been charged with
• Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – PCA,
• Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive under the influence,
• Negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm,
• High range PCA,
• Never licensed person drive vehicle on road,
• Use unregistered vehicle,
• Use uninsured vehicle, and,
• Burnout.
He has been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Bail Court today tomorrow.
