Drug And Firearm Charges, Burdekin

Police have charged a man and woman with drug and firearm offences in Home Hill, 21 January.

Around 8.40am, officers attended an address on Third Avenue to execute a search warrant.

At the property, officers allegedly located and seized approximately 1kg of methylamphetamines, 87grams of MDMA, approximately $93,000 in cash and a firearm.

A 40-year-old Home Hill man and 30-year-old Ayr woman were taken into custody.

The man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing utensils or pipes and one count of receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying.

He is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today, 22 January.

The woman has been charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possess utensils or pipes.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear at Ayr Magistrates Court on 9 March.
