Police have seized more than 5kg of Methylamphetamine and about 2.8kg of Cocaine resulting in 16 people being charged following a protracted operation targeting the distribution of synthetic based drugs in Fortitude Valley nightclubs.
Operation Xray Marine commenced in July by officers from the Fortitude Valley Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) and Crime Command and closed on 29 December after a series of raids conducted across south-east Queensland.
Detectives executed a total of 10 search warrants during the operation and have charged 16 people with a multitude of offences including 6 trafficking and 31 drug supply charges.
During the operation, detectives seized more than $555,000 in cash and approximately 5.6kg Methylamphetamine, 2.8kg of Cocaine and 23g of Ketamine and a large number of MDMA capsules.
A 29-year-old Meadowbrook man has been charged with four counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of trafficking dangerous drugs, one count of receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying and one count of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime defined in Part 2.
The matter is expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 February 2026.
A 23-year-old Hillcrest man has been charged with one count each of supplying dangerous drugs and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 25 February.
A 27-year-old Carseldine man have been charged with one count each of supplying dangerous drugs drugs and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 23 January.
A 25-year-old Coopers Plains man has been charged with two counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates court on 9 February 2026.
Two Goodna men aged 27 and 28-years-old have been charged with one count each of possess dangerous drug Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4.
They are both expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrate Court on 9 March.
A 28-year-old Bellbird man has been charged with one count each of possess dangerous drug Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than schedule 4, possessing dangerous drug and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons.
He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 28 January 2026.
A 24-year-old Spring Mountain man has been charged with three counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, and one count each of possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, and possessing anything for use in the commission of a crime defined in Part 2.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrate Court on 9 March.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.
He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 21 January 2026.
A 43-year-old New Farm man was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4 and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2 and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 February.
A 24-year-old Coopers Plains man has been charged with seven offences including two counts of possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2 and on count each of trafficking in dangerous drug and possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 March.
Officer In Charge of Fortitude Valley CIB Detective Acting Senior Sergeant (DSS) Stephen Bull said the operation focused on the distribution of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), cocaine, ketamine and gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB) within Fortitude Valley venues.
"Police are sending a strong message to anyone who seeks to sell, distribute and advertise the sale of drugs in venues," DSS Bull says.
"Drug use and offending adversely affect people's lives. Police will not tolerate offences of this nature and work tirelessly to detect and hold to account anyone who supplies illicit drugs within the community."
"It's a timely reminder for those planning on celebrating New Years events that we will continue our efforts to keep the community safe and target drug suppliers."
