Drug Charges, Garbutt

Police have charged a woman after seizing drugs and cash during a traffic stop in Garbutt on July 8.

Around 4am, officers from Townsville Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) intercepted a white Mercedes on Bayswater Road.

During a search of her vehicle, police located drugs including methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine, heroin and medication, a knife and $20,000 in cash.

A 24-year-old Cosgrove woman was charged with six counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of a weapon, possessing drug utensils, possessing tainted property, buying or possessing medicines and possessing anything for use in the commission of a crime. She was remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today, July 9.
