Drug Charges Laid After Vehicle Stop At Parkes

A man and a woman will face court after methylamphetamine and MDMA were seized in the state's central west yesterday.

Officers attached to Central West Police District stopped a ute on Currajong Street, Parkes, about 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2026), for the purposes of a random breath test.

The driver – a 30-year-old man – was subjected to a breath test, which returned a negative result.

During the stop, investigators conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located an amount of methylamphetamine.

Police issued the man with a Future Service Court Attendance Notice for the alleged offence of possess prohibited drug, to appear before Parkes Local Court on Thursday 4 June 2026.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Medlyn Street, Parkes, about 5pm the same day.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized an amount of methylamphetamine and MDMA.

Police arrested a 49-year-old woman and took her to Parkes Police Station, where she was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, and breach of bail.

She was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 today (Friday 8 May 2026).
