Drug seizure - Remote Community

Northern Territory Police have seized a quantity of cannabis destined for a remote community.

Yesterday, police were conducting patrols at the community's airport with police dog Diesel when a box came to his attention.

Police conducted a search of the box and located a 24-inch TV inside. The TV was visibly tampered with and when removing the back panel police located 401 individual clip seal bags of cannabis.

Police seized a total of approximately 220 grams of cannabis.

Police estimate the street value of cannabis seized to be $33,000.

Investigations are ongoing.
