Drug supply arrest, Highway 61 OMCG

Investigators from the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad have arrested a patched member of the Highway 61 Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) during the closure of an operation targeting drug and firearms offences allegedly committed across the Gold Coast and Logan area.

As part of Operation Quebec Elm, investigators working in partnership with Logan District Police and specialist units arrested a total of eight people on 53 charges.

One of those arrested was a 45-year-old man from Greenbank, charged with four counts of the supply of a dangerous drug (namely methylamphetamine). The man was refused police bail at the Beenleigh watchhouse and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

"This result is thanks to the ongoing support of members of the public who are sick of people profiting from the sale of dangerous drugs that cause harm in our community.

"Members of outlaw motorcycle gangs who engage in any form of criminality should see this arrest as a clear message that we will be unrelenting in our efforts to prosecute you and place you before the courts," Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Gavin Pascoe of the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad said.
