Drugs, $450k Cash Seized, Man Charged

A man will appear in court today charged after drugs and cash were seized following a vehicle stop and search warrant in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

In May 2020, Strike Force Polar was established by detectives from the Bankstown Police Area Command to investigate the alleged supply and manufacture of prohibited drugs in the local area.

As part of ongoing proactive inquiries, strike force detectives stopped a Toyota Camry on the Great Western Highway at Arndell Park, just before 3.30pm yesterday (Friday 17 March 2023).

Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and seized 12.6 grams of white powder, believed to be cocaine.

The 36-year-old driver was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

A subsequent search warrant was executed at a unit on Lock Street, Blacktown, where investigators seized $452,000.00 cash, steroids, and 13.6 grams of white powder, believed to be cocaine.

The items will undergo further examination.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 18 March 2023).

Investigations under Strike Force Polar are ongoing.
