Drugs and cash charges at Mackay

Detectives have charged six people following the search of a West Mackay address on Saturday, April 24.

It will be alleged 24 grams of methylamphetamine, six grams of cannabis, a quantity of prescription medication, drug utensils and $186, 000 worth of cash was located during the execution of a search warrant on a Landsdowne Road residence.

A white 2003 Subaru Liberty reported stolen from the Cairns region earlier this month was also located along with multiple mobile phones.

A 38-year-old West Mackay man has been charged with one count each of drug trafficking, possession of tainted property, possession of anything used in the commission of a crime and contravention of a domestic violence order.

A 25-year-old North Mackay man was charged with one count each of possession of dangerous drugs and breaching an arrest warrant.

A second 38-year-old man also from West Mackay was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of utensils and contravene a requirement.

A third 38-year-old man from Sarina was charged with one count each of possession of dangerous in excess of schedule three, possession of drugs and not being endorsed to possess restricted drug.

A 30-year-old woman from Mount Jukes and a 49-year-old West Mackay man have each been charged with one count of possession of utensils.

The first 38-year-old man and 25-year-old man who were both remanded in custody are scheduled to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court today (April 27).

The remaining 38-year-old men, a 49-year-old man and 30-year-old woman are expected to also face the Mackay Magistrates Court next month.
