Drugs and cash found in short term rental, Kelvin Grove

A 25-year-old man has been charged after police discovered drugs, cash and associated equipment in a short-term rental house at Kelvin Grove yesterday morning.

It will be alleged that stacks of cash, totalling around $65,000, a money counter, a cryovac machine, mobile phone and around 10kgs of cannabis, in vacuumed sealed bags were located in the house.

The house had allegedly been rented short term by a man who then contacted the owners to extend his stay. The property was searched after the man's request was denied, based on information received by police.

The man was identified and arrested in the area a short time later.

A 25-year-old Brisbane man was denied police bail and provided with short-term accommodation in the Brisbane City Watchhouse.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 27, charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of tainted property and possession of anything used in the commission of a crime under the Drugs Misuse Act.
