Drugs and weapons charges at Biggera Waters, QLD

Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols (RAP) officers have charged a man with drugs and weapons offences following the search of a vehicle at Biggera Waters in the early hours of Sunday morning, June 25, 2017, Queensland Police say.

Around 12.20am, police intercepted and conducted a search of a vehicle on Brisbane Road.

As a result of the search, police allegedly located drugs, a loaded hand gun and a large quantity of cash.

A 44-year-old Runaway Bay man was charged with one count each of possess category D/H/R weapon, possess explosives, possess dangerous drugs, possess utensils, possess restricted drugs, driving whilst unlicensed and possess tainted property.

The man is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today (Monday, June 26).
