Drugs, cash and jewellery located following Officer search warrant

Dandenong Divisional Response Unit officers have arrested three people following the execution of a search warrant in Officer today (21 September), Victoria Police say.

Police entered the Nature Avenue premises shortly after 7am and arrested a 34-year-old man, a 66-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman.

During the search police allegedly seized a large amount of cash, still to be counted, a $200,000 Mercedes sedan, approximately $100,000 worth of jewellery and 4kgs of substance believed to be cocaine and methyl amphetamines.

During the search a substance was located that investigators believed was explosive material causing the closure of surrounding roads and a safety warning being issued to residents to remain inside.

An arson chemist attended the scene and after inspecting the material declared the area safe.

The 34-year-old man has been charged with possess proceeds of crime, traffick large commercial quantity of cocaine and traffick commercial quantity of methyl amphetamine.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (September 22).

The 60-year-old woman and 66-year-old man were allowed to leave pending further enquiries.
