Drugs charges following vehicle stop near Glen Innes, NSW

A man has been charged with drug offences following a vehicle stop in the New England region yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.30am yesterday, officers from Glen Innes Police Station were patrolling Bald Knob Road, Dundee when they stopped the driver of a Toyota Hilux utility for a random breath test, which returned a negative result.

After speaking with the driver, officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located 2.3kg of cannabis leaf, 2.9kg of cannabis head and a powder believed to be cocaine.

All these items were secured for further forensic examination.

The 23-year-old driver from Queensland was arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court today.
