Drugs found during vehicle stop in Wellington

Three people were arrested for allegedly possessing a prohibited drug after a vehicle stop in Wellington today, NSW Police say.

About 2am today, officers from Orana Local Area Command stopped a Holden Commodore sedan on Lee Street, Wellington, for the purposes of a random breath test.

Police spoke to the driver, a 31-year-old man and his passengers, a 33-year-old male and a 29 year-old female, before searching them and the car.

During the search, a quantity of methylamphetamine was allegedly located and seized.

All three occupants were arrested and taken to Wellington Police Station.

All three were released pending further inquiries; however charges are expected to be laid.

Police are urging anyone with information relating to retail theft to call Crime Stopers.
