A man will appear in court today after over 70 cannabis plants were located in a house in Yagoona, NSW Police say.
Strike Force Zambesi, comprising officers from South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squads, Wetherill Park and Bass Hill, was established to target the hydroponic cultivation of cannabis in the region.
About 8.40am yesterday today, Strike Force Zambesi officers executed a search warrant at a home on Colechin Street.
It will be alleged police located over 70 cannabis plants as well as a cannabis cultivation set-up.
All items have been seized for forensic examination.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with a number of drugs offences including cultivate prohibited drug and use/consume/waste electricity without authorisation.
He was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court today tomorrow.
