Drugs Seized At Balaklava

A Balaklava man is facing serious drug charges following a police search of his property on Friday.

Police searched the Balaklava property on Friday 20 March and allegedly located approximately 400 grams of cannabis, a large number of resealable plastic bags, numerous scales, a large quantity of pill casings, cannabis seeds, cannabis smoking equipment, illegal vapes and prohibited weapons, including knives and machetes.

A 20-year-old Balaklava man was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, possess prescribed equipment, possess prescription medication and possess prohibited weapon.

He was bailed to appear in the Clare Magistrates Court on 18 May.

Investigations are continuing.
