Drugs seized, man charged in Cronulla

A man will face court after an incident in Cronulla yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.50pm today, officers from Cronulla Police Transport Command were patrolling Cronulla Railway Station, when they stopped a man to speak to him.

Police will allege the man threw a clear resealable bag containing a number of ‘MDMA’ pills and ran from the scene.

Officers seized the bag and chased the man, apprehending him a short distance away.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Miranda Police Station.

He was charged with escape police custody, possess prohibited drug x2, resist arrest, drink alcohol on train and not have valid ticket.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
