Deputy Prime Minister Sophie Hermans of the Netherlands has been elected by the IEA's Governing Board to chair the Agency's next Ministerial Meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Hermans has also served as the Netherlands' Minister of Climate Policy and Green Growth since July 2024.
The IEA Ministerial will be held in Paris in February 2026. It takes place every two years to set the Agency's mandate and review its achievements. The meeting will provide a key opportunity for countries to take stock of the latest developments in global energy markets and how they can advance international cooperation on energy security and energy transitions.
