East Devonport man charged with $300,000 crime spree

A man has been charged after detectives from the Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch recovered approximately $300,000 worth of stolen property from an Acacia Hills property on Tuesday.

Items including stolen vans, trucks, excavators, and white goods were allegedly stolen within the previous 72 hours.

As a result of police investigations, a 35-year-old East Devonport man has been charged with:

  • 2 counts of Burglary
  • 8 counts of Stealing
  • 14 counts of Breach of Bail
  • 7 counts of Drive while disqualified
  • 2 counts of Trespass (Land)
  • 1 count of Selling a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Selling a Controlled Plant or its Product
  • 1 count of Use a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Possess a Controlled Drug
  • 1 count of Resist a Police Officer

The man has been charged and detained in custody to appear at the Devonport Magistrates Court later today.
